I will hold out optimism until the bitter end. Star Control 3 was a sad follow-up to Star Control 2, but this.. this will be good!

You are an optimistic fool whose dreams are crushed beneath the impending boot of reality. So far you have a time zone (not a date), and some pretty graphics - likely the ones on the game intro itself.

I hope your frail heart can stand the disappointment. ;p

There was a freeware project that you can probably still find on the internet for Starcontrol. Collects all the ships from all 3 games, adds some new ones, allows network play with I think up to 8 simultaneous players flying around at a time. I think when I looked a few years back the project was called starcontrol timewarp, but I could be wrong.

I DIDN'T KNOW YOU LIKED FALLOUT!!!

Yeah, I saw that trailer last night and freaked out, then realized I didn't have anyone to tell about it. :(

fallout three has a lot to live up to, but it's being done by the guys who did morrowind and oblivion, and they've been working on it for at least 2 years now because i saw stuff on it in 2005. you don't need to be optimistic, it will be good, it just may not be the same, we're used to fallout being top down, 3rd person, turn based combat, i dont think it will go that route. but if they make the game half as detailed as the elder scrolls it will be good enough for me.

It's going that route.

They just have the best graphics engine. Neat, and it's not even a genre I like.
