Speechless? It all depends on how the things listed are depicted and shown.

And, Well, if Kite Runner is like the book, the sexual assault happens fairly early on... Though The ramifications of it last the whole book.

And considering what happens, I doubt it will actually be SHOWN. The other movie probably just ends up showing more *shrugs*.

Anyhoo, Speaking of Kite Runner, It was a good book, but I'm not sure how well it will translate to film form :/ . (I've never read the other one, er... if it's based on a book of course ^^;.)

What does something happening at the beginning of a story have to do with the reasons for a movie's ratings?

Anyway, it's the MPAA up to its old tricks again that made me speechless.

The Kite Runner's content
I'm Not There's content

By beginning, I more mean that It's just something that happens once and it's brief. It wasn't even described that much in the book, and the impression I get from the IMDB is that it's not explicit in the movie either.

Also, the "F" word is a big factor in movie ratings. Yeah, I know it sounds silly, but their actually IS a set amount a movie can have before it goes up a rating. (It can only be said once in a PG13 movie I believe, any more than that, and it's R. )

Eh, anyways, the ratings just by what's listed on those content pages seem logical to me. But that's just my opinion and I can see where others would disagree.
