My job is largely to investigate and write about the shortcomings of our health care system in Canada, so I see a lot of them. But, man, I would never trade what we have for a U.S. style system. I think since we're so bombarded with American media, that "every man for him self" attitude is rubbing off on Canadians, who complain about the taxes they pay even if they don't draw heavily on the health care system at present. But really, I think the fundamental value that it's for the good of our society to take care of one another remains. In the words of Sam Roberts, "S-O-C-I-A-L-I-S-M is the only way."
