    The problem is the manner in which people have been reared against the cliche. Not to be overused, I agree, but it exists for a reason, doesn't it? I'm not saying to embrace the past as the only method by which to create. That is short-sighted, and can keep one from reaching their full potential. The oldness of cliche does not repel.

The meaninglessness and weakness, the poor phrasing, and the stale language make cliche terrible to use.

As for the rest, only this: the past is never to be revered.

Turning your back on what you are may not be a bad idea, depending on what you are.
