I had to put down one of my cats today. It hurt, but I knew it was the right thing to do. My Vet Sis, baby sis,, told me they would hang on longer than they should.
At the risk of being really tacky-- my other 2 cars and the dog won't miss her. She was a loner. I am more worried that they saw me take her our in a blanket and then didn't come home, but they are definitely not mourning. Tomorrow I was tell the funny "Little Bitty Kitty" story.
Yes, baby-- sorry-- She got soooo sick. I should have done this last week, but I wanted her to die at home. I have no regrets. I took her in from a "restaurant feral cat", to living with us for 18 great years. However, it was hard.
You are so right. I have been going to this clinic for 19 years. The tech and I were talking today about when "we die". We both agree, mix my ashes with my fallen friends and scatter them. Must update will after the holidays. I always have my babies cremated and sent back to me in wooden boxes. This place does a great job.

I hope your other kitty doesn't mourn too long. It's always so sad to watch them looking for their friend.

She went from 100 to nothing in about 7 days. Scary.
