Finally....

As promised I finally managed to go through my pictures and will now post "a few". I am sorry for the bunch of pictures from Melrose Abbey, but good gracious, it was just awsome to stand there within these walls. For those who are not interested I cared and put the HUGE post behind a cut.

Ah ha! Fantastic photos!! You are a fine photographer! I may want to use a couple of your photos for book covers if you have originals large enough? I have a couple of Scottish clients so I often need landscape photos of the Highlands. I already purchased a stock photo of Stalker Castle for an up and coming cover. Pity I did not wait to see your photos!! How large are the originals ( ... )

Thank you, dear. I am glad you liked them as I love to take pictures. One day I will buy a proper Nikon SLR or something similar. Whatever you need I would happily offer you to use. I have piles of pictures from every motive. We have two sizes and I am not sure what size you will need to work with. I will check the sizes when I am back home. I think the Stalker pictures won't be good enoughh for you to work with as we had really bad light there but I will show you another picture anyway as we played around and tried the sepia effect as well. I will upload some for you so you can check if they will be usable in general or not.

Nah, coffee was... *grumbles* it worked well in Edinburgh but in the Highlands are no Starbucks! You will be fine in Londen - plenty of good coffee shops there!

I had the beer. I love beer. And it fits to Scotland I think. I travelled with my sister and she is a huge white wine fan.

Good to hear that the to-do-list is getting smaller!

Charlie.

I LOVED the sheep in Northern England too. And shit, I can't tell you which of these I liked the best!! Great pictures! You got really lucky with most of the weather, honey. I hope you had a great time; it looks like it.

MCCLEOD!!!! LOL I am part of the McGowan clan myself. ;)

My mom did a trip like this several years ago and they went to Ullapool too and loved it. And the standing stones are just gorgeous. I am so jealous. Thanks for sharing all these!

Thank you, dear. I am glad you like the pictures! Yes, we were pretty lucky with the weather as I expected rain and fog for the most time. And I would immediatly return to Scotland - I think these are the most polite people I have ever met in my entire life.

I would have bought you something of your clan if I would have known that... they are everywhere.

Ullapool is a lovely village. I really liked it there but we just stopped by to sleep there as our ferry arrived pretty late in the afternoon. I am sure you will make it one day to the standing stones of Callanish if you want to. Personally I would not return - I just expected more. Unfortunately we were not able to do a day trip to St. Kilda due to our time schedule. Must be impressive out there.

I did Scottish Folk Dancing for many years here...love it. My branch of McGowan is Smith, and I do have a Smith tartan wrap, so there you go. ;) Thank you for offering! I am Greek, Scottish and German all told.

I really look forward to visiting there. I adored Northern England when I went...so I can imagine it's very similar. I'm glad you and your sister had a good time! Is she older than you? I'm an older sister. ;) Always will be.

*hugs*

Thank you, dear. I am glad you like them.
Well, we had one day of heavy rain which was just fine as we were on the ferry that day. And two days with on-and-off rain which was great in fact because it was just perfect for these surroundings.

Oh I love these photos! I'm going to need to go to Scotland one day.

Loved the pictures you took of the ruins and the graveyards. And of course the cliffs! *sighs*

Thank you so much for sharing these with us! : )

(And get writing!) *g*
