Oh, life, what craziness have you been throwing at me for the last month? Anyway, it's been a week of season finales for bunches of shows, plus the exciting announcements of what'll be returning in the fall, what new stuff will be popping up, and what got axed.
First there was Castle, which knocked my socks off and had me shouting at my computer screen because how dare they make us wait all summer with that cliffhanger?! I'll be rewatching the episode soon, and there will probably be tears as I mourn Montgomery's death. Then Hawaii 5-0, which was a little lackluster in comparison. It felt more like a midseason finale than a season finale.
NCIS resolved the Port-to-Port Killer's case while throwing EJ into danger. Since I didn't care much about Barrett to begin with, this wasn't particularly interesting for me. The best part of the episode was the last two minutes in Vance's office, with DiNozzo getting another super-secret assignment to hunt out a mole in NCIS. While I'm kind of excited to find out who it is, it feels like this storyline's been done before, both with DiNozzo being singled out for what is essentially an undercover gig and with someone within their agency being a traitor. Criminal Minds wasn't particularly memorable, and since I already knew J.J. was coming back, her arrival at the end of the episode wasn't all that exciting.
Having just come back from the last SPN Friday of the season and the finale that had me shouting at the screen for a second time this week, I have to say I freakin' hate cliffhangers. And love them at the same time. Oh, Cas, with your megalomanic god-complex, and the Samception, and Lisa and Ben getting Donna Noble'd at Dean's request. This is not what I was expecting to get tonight.
So, in conclusion, Castle and Supernatural were the wins of the week, while the rest got the job done without exceeding expectations. Next week is Glee's finale, assuming we don't get Raptured before then. Although, now that I think about it, watching Glee may fall into the category of 'Activities That Will Preclude A Person From Rapture.' Guess I'll still have to go to work on Monday, then.
