Arizona blows. Housing costs too much, nobody will stop talking about how Mexicans are trying to ruin the world, and the schools suck for the most part. Not to mention the state school superintendent responded to the schools being ranked among the worst in the nation by saying that the numbers were obviously manipulated, when he's been guilty of dumbing down the state tests for at least six years now.
Weather-wise, it's like a damned oven in the southern and central parts of the state and the northern parts are crappy winter-anywhere that actually gets any snow it either melts immediately or you're so far from the rest of the world that the little bit of snow doesn't make up for the isolation and desolation.
So, in South Carolina, it's usually pretty nice, and I DEFINITELY still appreciate the nice days. Example: today it is absolutely beautiful. Sunny, breezy, warm. It's pretty much been like that since September, with the exception of about three weeks in February. And it will pretty much be like that until June, and then it gets kinda warm.... But I appreciate every single sunny, nice, amazingly beautiful day. It's hard not to be happy when it's so nice all the time =)
North Carolina gets a little more winter than South Carolina. We had 2 "snowfalls" which basically didn't stick more than a couple hours. But we did have colder temps Dec-mid Feb, but nothing like MI. Coldest it got was 18. March, aka now, is basically when spring/summer arrives. This week has been 70s and 80s and sunny. I really do like the weather down here. Plus the scenery. NC has mountains and ocean. Double plus, the Carolinas are hiring teachers big time and at least NC is creating more incentives and higher pay to get teachers. Something to consider at least. There's no unions though. :-( But it's cheap to live down here and everyone is super nice! Talk to me sometime if you are seriously interested.
Georgia is phenomenal. Even in winter (which only lasts about 4 weeks here and consists of mild days with rain) it's not all that bad.
I love living here because everyone is outside more and you're more apt to meat people that way. I like eating outside downtown at the nice restaurants.
