I've been doing some more reading and research. Always looking for answers of course. I've in the past been interested in Jonny Bowden. I'm not sure why, maybe its his no none-sense athletic look. Maybe he makes me think of a personal trainer that I know will kick me into action. So I decided to read his articles on ivillage.com ( Read more... )

Yea I already knew about the pleasure-pain principle as well.. but I guess its just the way he described that made me enjoy the article so much. The mentioning of old songs giving you a certain feeling years after a certain memory.. things like that.

I'd like to associate happiness more with working out.. and I do enjoy it so it shouldn't be that hard. I was thinking maybe something along the lines of thinking of it as personal "me" time or time to relax.. I did it today.. stretching, situps, pushups and then relaxed just laying on the floor letting myself soak in how I felt. I think it really is something in my mind that I need to trigger as "good" rather than a chore or negative. Ah well :) I liked his other articles too ;p

I'd have to literally inflict pain on myself for that to work. :( I'm too literal for things like that.

Good luck with it though. You know, there's some secret to success out there for everyone... it's just actually finding the one that's the secret for our own. Too bad it's not a one-size fits all kind of thing. I need to work more on working out more. lol I do pretty good w/ the food, just occassionally do I partake of something I shouldn't.

Hope you're having a good w/e. =)
