Yeah, saw that all right. It's depressing. You'd think that getting rid of the car and forgoing air travel for the most part and using energy saving lightbulbs would be enough... then they find something else you can't do.

Heh. I'm flying a lot this year. And driving a lot this year. And googling a lot. And my husband is replacing all our CFLs with incandescents and we're stocking up on incandescents for 2012 when the government bans them (bastards!). Once we run out of those I'm going to go to Ikea and buy all halogen light fixtures. I refuse to go flourescent. ABSOLUTELY refuse. FREEDOM! I live in the 21st century. If they want to save energy, then they had sure better find a better way to save it than to try to thrust me back into the 18th century.

From the inimitable Mr Denis Leary (I have to admit sometimes I feel this way myself)

You know what I'm gonna do?
I'm gonna get myself a 1967 Cadilac El Dorado Convertable
Hot pink!
With whale skin hub caps
An all leather cow interior
And big brown baby seal eyes for headlights
YEAH!
And I'm gonna drive around in that baby
At 115 miles per hour
Getting one mile per gallon
Sucking down Quarter Pounder cheeseburgers from McDonalds in the old-fashioned non-biodegradable Styrofoam containers
And when I'm done sucking down those grease-ball burgers
I'm gonna wipe my mouth with the American flag
And then I'm gonna toss the Styrofoam containers right out the side
And there ain't a Goddamn thing anybody can do about it
