Oh, that's okay, and lots of the time you can't really tell the difference very well here unless the accent is distinct (in our region it's not always obvious).

But this occurred on a Canadian navy ship, haha.

Haha, he's definitely no-nonsense kind of guy. That's what I like about him. And he doesn't mind setting someone straight when they make stupid ignorant assumptions about America and Americans (and a lot of people do that where he's from, I'm not kidding, sometimes we overhear conversations and want to turn to people and just want to ask them if they're retarded).

Of course on the other side of things, I'll be the first person to (ahem, rhetorically) take down anybody who even thinks of making a "joke" about "a-hyuck a-hyuck, Canada has a navy?"
