tonite i went to review a multimedia/installation show for radar and it made me extremely happy and refreshed to see such smart artwork coming from such a used-to be rundown warehouse space. the whole place smelled like kitty litter, which didn't bother me because i got to stand by an open window and breath in the fresh air while looking at a ( Read more... )

kitty litter art galleries! this girl i know started a gallery in the h&h building on west franklin and the place totally reeked of kitty litter the last time i was there. i was watching this video piece in a corner and looked down at my feet and someone had filled up a hole in the floor with kitty litter and poop and i completely stepped in it. i think it was someone's piece. :[

i think we are talking about the same place? 405W franklin, there is the whole gallery, gallery four, and 5th floor, which is what i did a review of. hmmm, maybe the whole building just smells like kitty litter.

yeah, jenny kennedy of the 5th floor. i like that place a lot. i talked to her a few months ago about doing a show sometime this winter.. i wanted to put together a group photography show. is that something you might be interested in doing? i think i'd also ask mike and yuki. the asian fascination! i would also like to ask nicole, but then it'd be less asian.

i talked to jenny and gina the other night for the interview. yeah they are really nice. they told me they were all booked thru april next year, altho i'm not sure what is going to be up after the current show is taken apart tomorrow [election day...shudder.]

it would be the asian invasion plus one white girl. let me know if i can help you in any way to plan a show, i think that would be a really good idea for umbc photo, since it is always living in the shadow of mica kids.

Utz crab chips are amazing but I can't find them around here anymore. :(
