I particularly liked this quote by Nathaniel Hawthorne, on the wondrous possibilities laid out each morning, which sums up my own sentiments rather well:

"You speculate on the luxury of wearing out a whole existence in bed, like an oyster in its shell, content with the sluggish ecstasy of inaction."
