I was just looking at all the maps to see what is going on. :( It's not looking good for LA at all, I think only 2 of those spaghetti models show it hitting Texas or Mississippi (it would probably still be bad for NOLA if the direct hit was MS). Where are you? I don't think I've ever know what city you are actually in or near. I was thinking it was Lafayette, but I don't know why I think that. Anyway, fingers crossed for you.

I do live in Lafayette...we're about 2.5 hrs west of NOLA.

I know how you feel we are just sitting here waiting.. it suck Unfortunely you get it when its strong but you never know with this storm its already done a weird turn maybe it will go more west. I hope for LA it goes somewhere that can handle the water better. Its just sucky how you can never tell with mother nature hey face book has a gustav group load of people from Lafayette and all over LA there!!
