Sometime after the HOLS

CeCe was enjoying being back at school. She had missed it. As much as being at home with the fam for the hols was brill, it got boring after awhile. She missed the castle and the people in it. Well... most of the people. But she wasn't going to talk about that or think about that. Ashes to ashes. Dust to dust. And all that jazz ( Read more... )

Ah Hogwarts. Maddox was fairly pleased to be back. It had been an especially hectic holiday for him this year. His siblings had brought friends and significant others. There was more food and people in his home than he was used to and although it was fun, he had wanted some more quiet time that he'd gotten ( ... )

CeCe adopted a shocked look. "Me, not practicing?! Why would you ever think of such a thing!?" she chided, lightly pushing his arm. Although, he was mostly right. She hadn't had that much time to practice. She was worried about her dad getting a hold of her vintage archery set that her uncle gave her. Who knew her uncle really liked archery too? Crispin + pointy arrows = so not a good/safe idea. So she could only practice when he wasn't around, and he was around a lot wanting to play quidditch.

She thought on this for a moment, then decided she could still be completely honest. "Well," she began with a smile. "I'm completely willing to start up lessons again. My form is probably really bad, but I did get my own bow. Apparently my uncle on my mum's side likes archery. Who knew? Either way, I mentioned it to him and he gave me an old bow of his and some arrows. I'll have to show you!" Plus, she wouldn't mind spending more time with Maddox. He was such a great friend and she was starting to really enjoy their time together.

Maddox laughed as CeCe feigned offense. When he heard that she got her own bow however, he broke into a wide grin. "That's brilliant! Now you're all set to be a professional archer. What kind of bow is it, do you know?" He laughed at himself for a moment as he caught himself being all too interested in archery. In fact, his interest in it had grown quite a lot since... well since this.

Still, he was happy that CeCe hadn't randomly gotten over her archery kick while she'd been away from school. It was better, she'd gotten her own bow! "Did you practice with him? Your uncle, I mean. I used to go with my grandfather when I was younger." Maddox's smile was still there. He felt lighter now, knowing that he and CeCe would probably still be spending lots of time together.

CeCe laughed. "Yeah, I practiced with my uncle once on Christmas, but then my dad found out how much fun it was.... And you do not want my dad to get a hold of sharp things. So we had to stop, but that's why I have you. You can teach me all about the way of the bow and arrow. It works quite well actually," she said with a grin, tucking a stray strand of hair behind her ear.

She stopped and turned to face Maddox. "I seriously can't thank you enough for what you've done for me the past couple months. It's been really..." She paused trying to think of the right word. "Brilliant." He had just been nothing but nice and supportive of her. Could she be blamed for starting to maybe like him a little bit or a lot? She took a step closer to him.
