Girl Talk
CC would flounce down on the couch next to Lilly with a grin. "What did you want to discuss? And does it concern a certain dark haired young wizard of the arrogant variety?"
"He's not so arrogant now he's stopped thinking like I'd be impressed as his fangirls by all that." Lily laughed.
"Good! So did you two get together over the holiday?" she asked with a cheerful grin.
Lily nodded grinning, "Yes, he came and surprised me and took me to Paris for dinner and dancing. Paris!!! Can you believe it?"
"Ohh! Tell me ALL about it! That must have been SO romantic!" She said excitedly!
"Actually, it was. Mostly. When he got there, I was dressed in my usual home clothes, old old clothes. He said we were going to Paris and I just jumped into his arms regardless of how I looked," Lily laughed. "But then...I changed and we had dinner, danced, talked and laughed and..." she blushed, "kissed a few times. He's really rather romantic."
CC's eyebrow arched at the blush. "Just kissed, 'Lil? Or was there a bit more to it than that?"
"No, just kissing CC," Lily asserted, "Honestly, although there were times when I really wanted more..."
"Did you let him know that? Or were you playing a good girl and hard to get?
"I was playing a good girl. If, and I mean if, we date seriously, then that's the time for all that. I couldn't have him thinking me as silly and loose as all his fangirls now can I?"
CC chuckled. "No! Heaven forbid!" She gave her friend a knowing wink and then asked "So...have you had a chance to speak to Peter yet? you know...about whether he might be interested?" she asked hopefully.
"To tell you the truth, no I haven't. But I will. He's been a bit scarce around the place lately. And how could he not be interested, you're gorgeous and you know it," Lily laughed.
"I don't know. Peter hasn't said a word to me, and Jarrod thinks I went to the sea shore over Hols when I told him I was going to the Library in Alexandria. I'm beginning to think I might just be better off with my books."
"Why does he think that?" Lily asked confused. "You told him you were going to Alexandria and he thinks you went to the beach?"
"Yeah! Go figure! I'm going to have dinner with him sometime this week, I've let him know I'm availalbe, but haven't heard back with any specifics yet."
"I'm sure you'll hear back." I smile reassuringly. "Who told him you went to the beach?"
"Haven't a clue. Frankly, I think he heard Eygpt, thought sand, and then thought beach, though I don't know that for sure."
"Oh Lord, is he really that dumb?" Lily laughed.
"I hope not. And it could be just a simple misunderstanding." CC said with a shrug.
"Right, so tell me more about your trip then."
"It was amazing! You wouldn't believe how complex some of those ancient curses were! Arithmancy and Astronomy were extensively used and the potion recipes were so complex I think they'd give even Severus a run for his money! I don't think I saw the light of day the whole time I was there!" she said happily. "What about you? Was your sister even more horrid than usual?" she asked, looking concerned for her friend.
"Glad you found your perfect holiday destination then," Lily grinned. "Yes Petunia was worse if that's possible. She has a 'boyfriend' now, thinks she so much better than me."
"Let me guess, fat, uppity and so full of himself you want to stick him with a pin to see if he flies off from the release of all that hot air, eh? A real Jack Sprat the Bleeding Prat is just the type she'd go for would be my bet!" Cecelia snickered.
"Oh hell, I already told you?" Lily roared in laughter. "You know my sister too well. Add 'no neck' and you have Vernon to a 't'.."
CC giggled wildly. "No, silly you didn't tell me, but we BOTH know that's just her type! Maybe we should send her a valentine card...with a picture of her riding atop a hippopotamus on the front and inside, something along the lines of a howler, which spouts off 'Tuna and Hippo up in a tree...K-I-S-S-I-N-G! First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes Petunia with a handsome carriage!" It would have to be that size carriage to hold such a kid, wouldn't you expect?"
Lily fell over laughing and holding her sides, "CC, you kill me with that hunour of yours. Lets do it please?" she laughed weakly when she could speak again, a stich still stinging her side.
"Cheers! Ok, let's!" she replied, giving Lilly a hug.
Lily hugged CC back, "Can we charm it to make grunting noises like a hippo?"
CC howled in laughter! "Oh my god! That's the perfect touch! You're brilliant!"
"We make a great team, lets go do it now."
"Ok!." CC conjured up some paper and zoo magazines and then asked Lilly if she had a wizarding photo of her sister.
"One...I laugh at it because she's wearing dad's old sweater and it comes down to her knees." Lily dug it out of her diary.
"It'll do!" CC said with a grin. They worked on it for several more minutes and soon had the finished product in hand. CC handed it over to Lilly and said "Now, all you have to do is post it!"
"Oh brilliant," Lily exclaimed. "I'll do that in Hogsmeade next time I'm there. I think if I sent her an owl, she might have a conniption, or Vernon will, so it had better be muggle postage. Hey, did you see how closely Vernon resmebles vermin?" she giggled.
"I wonder if he's a rat as well as a hippo?" CC laughed.
"Wouldnt surprise me actually. He's a real pain in the arse, and he eggs her on you know..." Lily frowned.
"Wonderful! Just what she needed! I'm glad we're doing this!" CC said.She knew Petunia's attitude really got to Lilly, and it was just terrible! "I wish I was your sister, instead of her." she said, giving Lilly a hug. "But only if I were still me!" she added.
"Oh can you imagine what fun we would have? I already think of you as a sister anyway. Next hols you must come home with me and we can terrorise Petunia together."
Cecelia grinned in such a manner Lilly might be a little bit worried! "She won't know what hit her! And with some of the ideas I have planned, we won't even have to use magic to do it!" she replied.
