Talking With Remus

Feb 21, 2005 20:16

CC saw Remus sitting at a table in the Great Hall, drinking a cup of coffee while he studied. This looked like a perfect opportunity! She banired 2 drops of the potion into the bottom of his cup, and then waited a few minutes before heading over there through the crowd. She walked over and asked him, "Mind if I join you?"

Remus looked up and smiled, "Please." He stood up and gestured for her to sit, before he sat back down.

CC was impressed by Remus's manners."Thank you." she said with a smile, taking a seat across from him. "So, how was your holiday? Do anything interesting?" she asked.

"Just the usual, although I did get my ear peirced." He replied. Remus wasn't about to show his tattoo. Grinning, Remus inquired, "And yours...was it interesting?"

"Very! There'd been some problems at home, and so I ended up going with an old family friend to the wizard's library at Alexandria. I could have stayed there for ages!" she said wistfully. "What made you decide to get your ear pierced? It looks great, by the way." She asked with a grin.

"Thank you, it was a gift." Remus replied before he really smiled. "Egypt, oh I would love seeing that library. I've hear they have some really fascinating defense and arithmancy scrolls."

"It was a blast! You could literally get lost in there. It's a true wonder! So was it a gift from Sirius?" she asked, eye brow arched, a smile playing on her lips.

Blushing lightly, Remus nodded. "Yes, it is." He inquired further, "Did they have anything on Dark Creatures or any magical ones, for that matter?"

"Yes, they did. They had a whole wing devoted to magical creatures. Everything from Alomeres to Zandicats." She hoped she hadn't embarassed him too terribly. "Though it's nice in a way to be back here too. I missed Lil, of course,, and her sister was horrible to her!"

Remus nodded. "I wrote her over the hols. Her sister's a bit of a.." he searched for a polite way to say jealous bint. " high-strung young woman isn't she?" He poured some coffee and gestured to an empty cup."Care for some?"

Since she had put the potion into his cup and not the carafe, she smiled sweetly and said "I'd love some! It seems like I can never get enough of the stuff. I don't know how Lil and Petunia could be related. They're so much different from each other." She thought for a moment and then asked "Do you have any siblings?"

Remus poured her a cup and then added cream to his. He sipped and smiled in bliss. " I don't know her sister well, but I've not heard anything promising." He tried to smile again. "Ah, no I am the only child." Remus replied, not explaining his parents didn't try after he'd become a werewolf.

Her mind went back to something he'd asked a few minutes ago. "Are you interested in dark creatures? Or magically creatures in general?" she asked him.

"I am very interested in Defense. I find Dark Creatures fascinating." Remus was beginning to feel odd and he was getting a head ache.

That made a bit more sense. Those drawn to Gryffindor were not usually big on the dark arts, unless it was in finding ways to defeat them. "Do you have a favorite?" she asked him.

"Favorite?" Remus was definately feeling odd.

Cecelia noted his face seemed paler, and she suddenly hoped he wasn't having an alergic reaction or something! She decided to hurry it up a bit and change the subject. "Nevermind. I was wondering, do you like poetry at all?"

"Poetry? I have to, Mum's a professor." His head was pounding.

"Just because she's a professor of it doesn't mean you have to like it. But since you do, have you been sending poems to people anonymously?"

Remus looked at her calmly and said, "I do like poetry, but why would I send anyone except Sirius a poem?" He was going to be ill soon. The last time he'd felt like this it had been an allergic reaction.

"Well, they've all been signed in friendship, nothing romantic, so why not?" was the first thing that came to mind.

"Hmmm...I don't know why I would." Oh, he needed Sirius, before he made an ass out of himself. Remus knew he needed to lay down or see Poppy.

"Are you feeling ok? You're not looking well." She asked, sounding worried.

"I am ok, just a bit tired." He tried to smile. "Thank you for asking."

"So do you want to follow in your mum's footsteps and become a teacher too?" She asked. From his replies, it seemed that he didn't have a clue about the poems, so there wasn't any point in pushing him further on that angle of things.

"Yes, Defense. My Father is a professor of Obscure Magic." Remus kept hold of his smile, barely. Manners his mum drilled into him made him behave as though there was nothing wrong.

She thought he really did look peeked, and so said with a smile, "It was nice talking with you Remus, but I need to get back to library. Thanks for the coffee."

Remus smiled and stood up. "Anytime. I enjoy talking to you." Even with the pounding headache he wondered if he should tempt fate just a nudge. No, he felt too damn bad.

"I enjoy talking with you too, it was a pleasure. See you later." she said, smiling at him before walking away.
