CC was surprised to see it was Severus who was knocking at the common room door, but glad to see him, none the less. She invited him in and asked "Did you find it then?"
Severus glanced around the common room as casually as he could, taking in the curious stares and surprised looks of the Ravenclaws. They may be less prone to house rivalry then the others, but his personal reputation could cause hostilities. "Yes, it was under the sink actually."
Cecelia saw the looks they were getting and rolled her eyes at her housemates, and then said "Perhaps we can talk outside."
He smirked. "I don't know, do you trust me enough be alone in the hallway? In any case, you might want to put this somewhere?" He handed her the erronous shoe.
"After last night?" She said quirking an eyebrow. She took the shoe and banished it up to her closet and said to him "I'll have to take my chances, considering I do have something to speak to you about."
"After last night, I'm surprised you let me in here." He grinned and held out his hand. "I see.... shall we then?"
"Yes." She said, taking his hand with an amused smile. Once they were outside and in private in the halls, she asked him "Is there any chance of an allergic reaction with what you made for me?"
"There is a minute chance, but it's unlikely. I used murtlewoad in the base, 0.03% of wizarding folk are allergic."
"Hmmm, that is odd then. I used it on Remus, and he turned so pale and looked so ill I thought he was going to puke on me!" she said with a frown.
"He may already be taking a potion of some kind that caused a reaction. A murtlewoad allergy would cause a serious rash."
"Ok. That's a relief. I do want to find out who the poet is, but didn't think before about possibly harming people with the potion. And if there was a real chance of that, I'll just have to go about it some other way." she pouted.
He started. "The poet? How do you know about the poet?"
"Because he's sent me a couple poems...what do you know about it?" she asked, eyes narrowed.
"Why would you think Lupin knows who sent them?" His eyes narrowed in return.
"Because he was the first person I had a chance to question about it! Not to mention, his mum's a professor of poetry." she replied hotly.
"Really... Hmm."
"Have you been getting poems too then?" she asked, sounding a bit calmer now.
"Uhh." He was caught uncharacteristically off-guard. Damnit, why was she so astute? Then again, like he'd be talking to her otherwise. "Yes. Someone seems to be greatly amused at the thought of my having a secret admirer."
"Hmm...have you been getting original poems, or classics?" She asked.
"Classics. You?"
"Same. Have yours been romantic?" she asked.
"I can't say I'm the best judge at what is romantic and what's not." He replied cynically.
She snorted "Yeah, right. We both know you're better, and smarter than that! My poet has been quite up front about saying his gifts are meant only in friendship. Has yours been so forthright, or have there been hints and innuendos of there being something more?" she asked him.
After telling CC a bit more about the poems he'd been receiving, she said to him, "It sounds to me like you could have a couple, really. The styles are different but the one which accompanied the potion ingredients does sound romantic, though regretful, as if the poet would like to get together with you, but knows it isn't going to happen. Neither sound like the one writing me, really."
"I'm sure at least some of these are a practical joke. If not all of them. But I did keep the ingrediants." he admitted.
"If nothing else, this does give me a few more things to think about. I'm glad the potion's safe. I was getting worried there when Remus looked so ill after drinking it. I'll let you know if I find out anything more though." she said with a smile.
"I'm sure he's fine. Perhaps you just made him nervous." He smirked.
Cecelia looked at Severus oddly. "Why would talking with me make him nervous?" She asked.
"Why wouldn't it? Beautiful woman, potentially embarrassing questions..."
Cecelia blushed at the compliment. "The potentially embarrasing questions, maybe. But I don't think my appearance would phase him. He's more into handsome young men, like yourself...as was obvious at the Yule Ball." she said with a teasing twinkle in her eyes.
"I'm surprised you noticed, I was under the impression that you were otherwise engaged at the time." His eyes glinted, whether with mirth or malice it was hard to tell.
Cecelia's eyes grew wide as the blush in her cheeks deepened further, and she took a small step back towards the wall. "I was doing fine untill the table got knocked over!" She was surprised that he had noticed, considering how involved he had seemed to be with Remus. She decided now was a good time to leave, and so, still blushing profusely, said, "I need to go work on my history assignment! Thanks for bringing back my shoe." and then hurried off back to her common room.
Severus smirked at her retreating back and made his way back to the library.
