Oh, the ups and downs of publishing. I figured I better post about this since some of you are starting to wonder… hey, weren’t you supposed to have a book come out around now?

1. Yeah, the publishing biz is maddening. This post is old, from 2018! I finally got the rights back after Tor still never published it, and I'll be doing it myself!

2. Nope, the combination of post-MeToo meltdowns in the community, the pandemic shutdowns of events, and then the hotel where the FFF had been located for so many years deciding to kick out all their non-corporate business (IIRC FFF, Tethered Together, another kink con, a steampunk con, and an art fair all got booted at the same time), it was just too much for the too-small board of NELA to handle. They dissolved not just the FFF but NELA entirely. It was a good long run as a community service organization and it's time for a new generation to do things their way, though!
