Referring to the lust article:
It seems logical, but if lust is considered as a thirst and a thirst is not a sin, then greed should not be considered a sin either because, by definition, greed is also an "enthusiastic desire." o_O

Lust = sin?

Well, let's see:
- God says that it is;
- Some hedonistic academic says that it isn't.

Who could be right? What a tough question...

It was only recently that I realized how many people don't know how to hold chopsticks properly.

Why would I need to know? I'm not a funny foreigner. I use proper utensils :-P

Well, I had [in particular] Chinese people in mind. :B
Proper utensils? XP I'll eat my spaghetti with chopsticks.

I could tune out the verbal part, but the ruler making unfriendly contact with my skin was a bit harder to ignore. XD

Exactly. You can pick out little bratty kids in a crowd because they don't get spanked. Before I could communicate verbally I could definitely understand that doing certain things meant a whap on the butt. X3 I don't condone hitting a kid with a bat or a car, but I think kids need to be spanked.

The thirst analogy is bunk; if someone his thirsty, he doesn't down six friggin' beers and become totally plastered.The analogy is absolutely appropriate; if someone feels lust, he doesn't automatically get into a ten-person orgy. The issue in both situations is one of restraint or indulgence ( ... )
