People in my school are so very cool that they make me feel so very uncool. Even more uncool than I already am, that is. :O
*intimidated by the supah-high coolness factor*
And sorry John & Blobby, must take back that "funniest person I know" award.
Foon wins that one. Her LJ entries expose to me sides of BCHS that I...never...knew about...(like haircuts taking place in the washroom/artroom/cafeteria/godknowshwere. Ear piercings available in the stairwell for those interested.)
I am so very in love with my school. (the people, not the work. Never the work.)
That girl who always sits in front of my check-in room -is- a model (how I knew: oh newspaper, you've once again enlightened me). She's always studying in the mornings when I see her. Looks -and- brains! Double kill. *envious*
I planted seeds today. Uh...actually, I don't know. Can you call it planting if all you're doing is throwing them in jars with solidified agar solutions? ...doesn't matter. XD This was for biotech, we're growing beans to infect with different strains of syringae. The beans look wrinkly because I shook them a little too vigorously when sterilizing them. >_>;;;;; (There are worse-looking ones...that I didn't photograph. After two bleach rinses and direct contact with a really hot tweezer [argh guh the more proper name for tweezer is not coming to mind], I'm surprised they're still looking this good.)
To give an example of how hot the tweezer was even after I let it cool down, I almost melted a small hole all the way through one of the petri dishes while trying to pick up a bean. The thing -sizzles-. What's weird was that when Edith handles it, it cools really quickly and everything's dandy. When I use it, I'll let it cool for five minutes, and when I go to pick up a bean, it'll sizzle if I touch the petri dish. By the time I get around to dropping the beans into the agar solution, it's -still- sizzling. I recognize its burning desire for me, but really. I wish it'd cooperate a little more. Perhaps then I can learn to love it. :/
This pig vibrates. Pull his tail and he'll start vibrating.
[during lunch, when most of us were done eating and were just chatting and fooling around; Anna was running around with the pig showing it to people]
Teacher: "...what is that?"
Amanda: "It's a vibrating pig."
Teacher: ". . . .a WHAT?"
Amanda: "A vibrating pig."
Teacher: ". . . . . ."
It's...not what you think it is.....
(And just for the record, the pig's not mine.)
Here, have a cheese instead:
Proof that I live in the middle of nowhere:
Actually, no. I just live near city limits. :P And yes, there are houses around my house. My house is not some isolated little hut surrounded by seven feet of snow. Because my father insisted that I take many pictures of our surroundings to email back to HK, I'm sharing some:
Note: I suck at photography. Not to mention most of these were taken while my dad was driving, which made it a bit difficult to not get shaky/badly timed pictures. But no matter. XD
...As well, you will be seeing a lot of ugly cars. No one in their right mind'll drive their nice cars at this time of year.
......and my dad's car has really dirty windows. If you see weird gray flecks in the pictures, that's dried slush. >_>
RIPOFF!!! >O
And sheep appearance. <3 <3 <3
Kincora's the neighbourhood next to mine; and yes, they really have a tower built there. Looks really nice from the distance, will have to bike over there sometime to check it out. ;o;
And I think we had a rabbit visiting in our backyard during that -40C week. :D
...Hope it didn't die under our porch or something. I don't particularly desire a porch that smells like dead rabbits when spring rolls around.
Cardinal Classics' coming up (it's this city sports tournament thing held annually at my school...I think), and a small part of me wants to go to the Classics dance (almost caved in when Mike tried to coax me into buying a ticket today), but (a) I have no one to go with, and (b) that time can be spent on far more productive activities. Like homework.
I've never been to a school dance, though. In Junior High, I wasn't interested, so I never went. Last year, I didn't even know there was a dance. >_>;;
Abababababaga. :D
For those who don't know,
LiveJournal Valentine System is back again for 2004. I enjoyed this last year (wahaha, Tifaaaa! :D), so going to go for it again this year. :D
I think this is adorable, but the price makes me choke. And because my brain feels very waterlogged, I shall be off.
