So far this academic year (which...is coming to a close anyway), I have not been able to make it through a single test without falling asleep. This includes falling asleep during ( Read more... )

I have this same sort of situational narcolepsy. Mine strikes in class...never had it happen to me on tests, but probably because I go through the test as quickly as possible, then leave the room...

Oh, my marks suck too. Situational uncontrollable sleep compulsions suck.

Is this be something you should be seeing a doctor about? Maybe your condition is what Roar suggested... :(

Aahh, the same thing happens to me. Constantly. I can usually tell when I've fallen asleep when I get my exams back, too, because there are these spots where I miss several questions in a row.

Woe. Am sleeping my way to an unsuccessful future.

Ahh I did that too! I got a multiple choice test back and the last three questions were mysterious blank. But...I thought I had finished the test...

I fell asleep in the SAT too. T_T

That sort of thing never happened to me, but if you're allow to, I suggest you should drink a bottle of Coke, Pespi, or any soft drink before and/or during the test. It usually makes me stay alert and helps me think faster on tests.

Sorry, but that's all I know. Maybe you should do what peesah recommended and see a doctor about it.

Yeah, I've taken up chugging water during tests.
Caffeine doesn't work that well for me. :/ But thanks for the suggestion.

I have exactly the same problem. Halfway through an exam/test, I get stuck at a question, then start losing my train of thought. Especially if the weather is hot. Or if the place is air-conditioned.

Caffeine works for me, but it's not something I would recommend to other people...Not if you want to toss and turn for a couple of hours after going to bed.

My school supposedly "fixed" the heating system over the summer, but there seems to be absolutely *no* improvement. It's cold (freezing in some rooms) no matter what the weather's like outside. :( When it's cold, the body turns sluggish...the mind slowly fails...

I've tried caffeine, but it doesn't seem to do anything for me. :( Unless I chug two large pots of really concentrated tea. Or something.

Actually, caffeine might have an unfortunate side-effect...You get the urge to go to the toilet about twenty minutes into the exam. XD
