Was going to wait for my album to arrive, but couldn't resist and hopped onto youtube to check out the full video to Megamasso's "
M of Beauty". I had already seen the preview (~first 1:30 of it), so I was expecting the whole thing to be pretty mellow. Thought it was pretty sweet - I'm a sucker for classical instruments.
So I watch it with that expectation, catchy chorus, but it kinda repeats for awhile, so I wasn't expecting anything stellar. Guitarist Ryohei camwhoring as usual, bassist Gou pretending to be cool as usual, vocalist Inzargi doing really lame dance moves...as usual (that "boku no kokoro wa tojite" bit at 2:03? HAHAHA).
And then 2:42 chucked that really weird high note. Man, I had to listen to that several times before I could get my ears to smooth it out, 'cause my ears were all "THIS DOES NOT BELONG". :|
AND THEN 3:37 came and threw that tempo change! And then there were key changes! And suddenly the song was waaayyyy more interesting. Although it all kinda sounded disjointed at first and totally threw me off.
I really like the melody of this song though, so uh...I'll see how I feel about this song later.
Teresa wanted to go out on Saturday, so we checked out a nearby lounge/bar. Fairly nice place, definitely classier than your typical bar, good service. I like being able to actually hear other people talk. And being able to see what I'm drinking/eating.
But lo and behold BAM we witnessed a huge bar fight! Throwing chairs and glass and ceramics. Luckily no one was injured. But man, it could've ended badly - the table that we first sat at (our waitress moved us when this guy started getting rowdy) got pretty trashed, and we could've been caught up in the fight.
I think my adrenaline pump is broken though - I was fairly oblivious/out of it throughout the whole event. I was going to sit back down at our table (still pretty close to the fight, though not in the middle of it all like our first table) if Teresa wasn't yelling at me to move my butt outta there. :|
Man, natural selection would've totally gotten me.
