Mostly garnered from here, there, and yonder.

From netdancer - http://www.eskimo.com/~miyaguch/schmies.html - a really, really hard vocabulary test. I only got 157/200 correct, and once upon a time, a million years ago, I got a 710 on my verbal SATs. Be interested to see what other ( Read more... )

I freely admit to guessing wildly in many cases, or at least 'guessing based on what root bits of the word I knew'. :)

But... verbal was lower than anyone else who's posted so far.

However, I note that I do less well on any standardized English test that involves.... uh. What's that term. Not similes... you know, x:y::z:kumquat?
This is because I frequently saw at least two answers that I felt were perfectly logical, only I would end up picking the one that was wrong by the inflexible standards of the test.

I got 152 out of 200 correct, and I scored a 680 on my vocab SAT's a long time ago.

Dag got a 160/200, so you beat him. :)

And I still think the fact that you got a 710 on your verbal SATs less than two years after you started speaking the language is just DISGUSTING, dearheart. :) :) :)
