It's the weirdest YA book I've seen in a long time, but somehow the author makes it work. It's nonlinear, told mostly in first person by a girl raised in isolation by her mother, who taught her everything about religion and nothing about spirituality. When her mother dies, she has to go live in the modern world. There's a murder mystery in there, too.
OMG, I loved The Hunger Games! I remember reading the back cover at ALA and thought, "This sounds intriguing." Once I got home and started reading it, I couldn't stop. It was that good!
Oh, I ended up mailing my ARC copy to another writer friend.
You're such a geek. :P I'm still debating whether to buy one; I currently spend about $150/year on my phone, and the AT&T plans are kind of expensive. But the shiny quotient is way up there, so economics might lose this time around.
BTW, how do you get cat hair off your pants? I've tried brushes and those sticky rollers, but nothing seems to work except taking every hair off individually. And now that my cats span the spectrum of colors, with white, black, grey, and various shades of brown (and Fenchurch's fur is ticked, so each hair has several colors on it), the cat hair shows up on everything.

That makes me really glad that T-Mobile here let you pre-order... no crazy guys or 5am trips for me :)
