You know what I love? I absolutely love going to the campus library to do some research, booklist in hand, huffing and puffing up flights of fluorescent lit stairs, only to discover that of the TEN books on my list, only THREE are where they are supposed to be. Hehe....I used to work in cataloging at a library. It's a small university library and yet still amazingly manages to lose or misplace a ridiculous number of books, periodicals, and whatever else have you. I used to describe my co-workers as "practicing for being dead" a long-not-so-lost library tradition that apparently your stoner library front desk boy is carrying on with pride. The only exception to this would be every once in a while a frazzled spazzy librarian, with features distinct only to a particular breed of overstuffed owl, would come flapping about the back room, squawking incoherently, frantically tearing with her talons at my neat shelves of new books in some unholy quest for a lost one....an occurance that generally prompted quiet cussing on the part of me. For an institution that prides itself on precisely classifing, storing and preserving information...well, what more can you say really?!?
