So I'm in Baltimore at Anna's and we were trying to remember the name of a toy from the early 90s -- it's a mother dog, cat, pony, or bear and there are babies inside that you can take out. The babies have either pink or blue ribbons around their necks, and there can be between three and five babies. After some very careful Googling, I determined

I totally had a kitty surprise with four kittens. Man, I wonder if it's still in storage somewhere with my old toys - I remember one of the kittens was far and away my favorite, and carried it around ad nauseum, leaving the "mom" to take care of the other three.

My sister had the black and white mama dog, and I had the white cat. My aunts enjoy telling the story of sitting on the floor of Toys R Us looking through all the moms' tummies for the ones with five babies! XD Those things may even still be sitting around the house somewhere...

Wait, Toys R Us had the puppies outside of the boxes so you could rummage through and find the ones with the most puppies? NO WAY

I think this was before the days of plastic over the toys...they just had those AWFUL twist ties all over the place.
