I promise I'll get back to the F1 soon, I really will. But in the meantime, I thought I'd write about something completely different.
I'm going to keep this uncharacteristically brief. For those who haven't been counting, I moved to Marseille ten months ago.
Since then I've learnt an awful lot of French, not worked very hard, had a very limited social life and become severely depressed.
However, there is light at the end of the tunnel. I am currently on a big training session with other young engineers (I'm writing this on my phone from the bathtub in my room at the training centre) and am proving able to socialise with success, if not much ease.
I went on my first French date on Sunday and it went well - lasted longer than expected (in a good way) and she wants to see me again. Yes Amy, she is called Brian.
I'm slowly putting together a social circle in Marseille, with the other guys from this training session but also playing squash with the consultants (who seem way more social than my actual colleagues) and if that fails there are more Brits as of last week so I can hide out with them and grumble about the quality of French tea.
I hope you lot are all well, some of you I've heard more from than others (here and elsewhere) but do keep in touch.
That's all for now folks!
