i hate unhelpful government employees. when we got back from oregon I had a letter saying i was summoned for jury duty, which would have been this tuesday. only i'm still an oregon resident, or at least paying out of state tuition so i feel this is a little bit inconvient when i do not recieve the benefits (or the one which would specificly help me

At Tufts (in Massachusetts), students are fully expected to do jury duty, residents or not. My friend had jury duty on the first day of classes...yeah, a bit inconvenient.

And it's actually quite easy to vote absentee for Oregon. I've been doing it for almost six years. You go to the courthouse (I think?) page and there's an option for signing up for an absentee ballot and you can even give them an extended date if you want (so mine is effective until May) and they'll just mail all your ballots to you.
