Today marks the one-year anniversary of Molly's death. I kind of can't believe it. She was such a big part of my growing up...Zoe's great, but everyone knows she's a different creature. It just makes me realize what a disaster last spring really was...and that was just the icing on the cake

When the spanish talk about liking something, they speak of something pleasing them.

so it should be:
no me gusta la cerveza = " the beer does not please me"

the noun after the verb "gustar" does the pleasing

me gusto literally means "I please myself", which is awkward...
