Brief RL update
Not a heck of a lot has changed. Still working at the same university library. I'm up for tenure this year and my portfolio/dossier has been okayed by the library P&T committee, so, so far so good.
The SO is fine, working hard as usual on both courses he is teaching and article writing/revision. Dogs Juno (10) and Tain (5) are both in good shape; we just weaned Juno off the meds she'd been on for nearly 3 years since she had a seizure, and again, so far so good and no more seizures yet. Tain is still my crazy girl, obsessed with light.
Adoption process - nothing happening. Sigh. When we renewed our home study last summer, we reiterated our agreement that this would be the last year. Three years is enough to wait, especially when we haven't had any contacts at all, which is really disappointing. I don't know if having a match that failed would be worse or not. In any case, if nothing happens by this July when our home study expires, that's the end of it. I've been on this emotional roller coaster for a decade and more and I can't go any further, even though giving up is going to be really hard. Plus, even now SO would be at or over retirement age (not that he will necessarily retire then) when a kid graduated from high school. Not a great thing.
Fan stuff - I (we) went to Leviosa and enjoyed it, enough that I'm registered for MistiCon in May. The muse is still AWOL but I really really want to try to write again.
