I'm struggling with the sleeping issue, too, Cel. I used to be able to wing it during the week and make up at the weekend, but that's less and less viable these days. (Middle-aged me just goes right to crankiness.) In my case, it's an issue of discipline--getting things done and getting into bed before midnight. But it sounds like yours is an issue of scheduling?

Was the calf-feeding enjoyable or nerve-wracking? M.

Calf-feeding was enjoyable; one of our hosts was there the whole time making sure we didn't get knocked down by an overenthusiastic calf!

Calf feeding! How fun. :D

Have you tried making all your food on Saturday so that you only need to thaw and reheat (and add easy to throw together side dishes) the rest of the week? I'm making a lot of hand pies and similar lately so that I can eat "fast food" wherever I am.

Calves are adorable...until they're not. I do miss my bottle babies sometimes, even though there were times I'd have cheerfully turned them into veal myself.

:D

I've never fed a calf, that must have been quite exciting.

There should be an eighth day a week, just for writing and reading.

Each day I turn on my laptop, I read so much strangeness...you make a point though. Perhaps I to, am not a people but a Neanderthal.
