If there's one thing I have to say for the Americans, it's that their town-planners are masterful.
I couldn't have done a better job setting city layouts in Sim City.
[edit: Except, if you look at Pointer 45deg 33 min 45.25 sec N && 73deg 33min 10.73sec W elev 112ft, you'll notice they put their arcology right next to an industrial zone :P]
