Wow, today is totally a Monday. After a pretty good weekend, my 3 year old came down with a stomach virus last night, which meant (literally) no sleep for us. :( So today I've got the theme song from "Despicable Me" running through my mind; although the lyrics are pretty specific to the movie, they're still hilariously apt:

I remember tales my mother used to tell about my father trying to teach me how to play chess when I was three years old... He was pissed at me because, despite my very, very good language skills I had been displaying since I was about 1 1/2 years old, I kept calling the pieces by stupid made-up nonsense names. He finally told me, frustrated: "If you're to stupid to play chess, you'd better leave it alone." - To which my mum replied: "J., she's 3 years old..."

Okay, got sidetracked. *g* What I wanted to say is that both your brother and your swim class with Gabe sound truly adorable! :-D

*huuuuuuuuuuuugs*

Don't tell me about those nights.... in fact, we're having a lot of them lately, with Mr Jones fully back into newborn modus and gulping down four bottles of formula each night. And we're staying at a mountain lodge first and now at a guesthouse - all sharing a room and lots of other people under the same roof, so doing it the hard way and letting him cry is no possibility. *sigh*

Your brother sounds like an interesting person. And yes, kids are sometimes a bit unfair with their attention!

What never ceases to astonish me are the cultural differences in kid rearing (and I mean this in a positive, cheerful way!). Gabriel is already watching whole movies at the cinema? Precious doesn't even last one half of a soccer game...

Hee hee. He seems like a big kid to me too (D, I mean). I am jealous of his wild life, but wow, could never be so rootless myself, despite liking to travel. I need some stable place to go home to. And it doesn't have to have a person in it - cats, and books, and my TV are good!

Hope your summer has been okay... mine has been hot, and a little dull, apart from rewatching Supernatural and reading a lot of associated stuff :-)
