no but i have a friend who just did (hopefully she'll post) and she told me just the other day about the whole experience.
She said she had a lot of pain in her side, she thought maybe it was gas, but it just wouldn't go away. She called the nursing line, and they said it could be a bladder infection and to come in. After the urine test came back negative, they had her go through an MRI and that's when they found the kidney stone in her bladder.
She had to just wait to pass it. They gave her a little strainer to catch it in, and then she's supposed to take it back to be tested. She said it was more painful before she passed it, she said teh actual passing experience wasn't bad.
Yikes, hope that helps. I certainly don't ever want one myself, good luck!
Amanda is talking about me. I passed a kidney stone in January. The pain is pretty intense. I had a horseshoe shaped pain in my left side. I could not find any angle or position that was comfortable for me to sit/stand or lie down. Like Amanda said I did eventually end up in the ER and they drugged me up . It took several tries for them to give me enough pain killers to make any dent. At that point I had been in pain so long that I could not sit up, let alone stand with out vomiting. It was not very fun.
For women once the stone gets to your bladder passing it is no problem, its just the getting there that sucks.
