Dat GW2 entry

When I look back on September of 2012, it will be known simply as GW2 month. I ate, I slept, I worked, and I played Guild Wars 2. It is the best MMO I have ever played, and one of the best worlds I've ever had the pleasure of virtually-treking. I said prior to release that I wasn't sure if XIV 2.0 optimism could survive post-Tyria, and it hasn't.

Did the game developers say there were plans to add endgame content once you hit 80?

There's no shortage of things to do at 80. You have WvWvW, structured PvP, and tournaments on the PvP side. For PvE you have explorable mode dungeons, Arah(the lv80 dungeon), and Orr/Frostgorge Dynamic event chains for karma/legendary weapon mats. Not to mention that the game scales you to the area that you're in, so technically everything from all the 1-79 zones is legitimate content even if you're 80.

The rewards for pretty much all of that are the armor/weapon skins, but some people will have a problem with the fact that they don't add any power progression to your character. Once you have your base exotic set, getting the dungeon set won't make you any stronger. You're farming to look awesome, not for +1 of a stat. Definitely a deterrent for some, but I don't find it to be a problem. Especially in PvP, where the level playing field is a must.
