Sometimes life feels like high school, which is why even back then I did my own thing and took a lot of external influence with a grain of salt. If you could roll with me, fine. If not, no love lost ( Read more... )

Cats.

We should be more like cats. Do our own thing. Come around once in a while when the mood suits us. Sleep in our spare time. Observe the world around us and yawn every now and then.

And if others want to play nice, a good snuggle/cuddle is in order.

"Sometimes life feels like high school..."

Sometimes? SOMETIMES???!! High school is life in a microcosm. Regrettably, most people stay exactly the same once they get out of high school. They are the ones who try to make life miserable for those of us who have evolved since then. I imagine that amphibians got a raft of shit, too, from the fish, when they first emerged from the water. "Who do they think they are?" complained the fish, "Growing legs and breathing air instead of water! Why, water was good enough for my old man and it's good enough for ME!"

As for the planks in people's eyes, people tend to find fault in others things that they find fault with in themselves. So, it can be interesting when someone is criticizing you, to stand back and think about just what it is that this person doesn't like in themselves. Then respond to the subtext rather than the context and watch them get confused. "Hey! I was talking about YOU! Why are you suddenly turning this back on ME?!" LOL!

Aww Bless, Mimi! You were on my mind and I was going to bother you ;)

Ugh, I swear, you are so right and it's ALWAYS the same....ones....with the grief. All the time.

This is why I've began adopting a shut the hell up method of dealing with certain folks who love to point the finger and whinge incessantly.

But they can kick rocks with open toe shoes :)

There is cake, and the love of friends. Sometimes I have so many faults, I feel like the old song where it says, "the tire and tubes are doing fine, but the air is showing through" - I have so many faults I can't find the good stuff anymore. but I know it's in there somewhere.

Mimi, who is the most insightful person I personally know, has the long and short of it. People who don't grow viciously hate those who have.

Just when I began losing my faith in humanity, I remember that I know beautiful, lovely people (like yourself) and that brings me back to ground...and land of sanity.

But you know what I found? We all have faults, but the ones who can say 'Hey, I'm not perfect! But I try to do the right thing...' those are the ones who will always be alright. The ones that love to pass the buck....yeah, we see through their crap.

And Mimi, as usual, is on point.

*hug*
