Happy Labor Day everyone - for all of you that have the day off, have a great day of BBQ and beer; for those of you that have to work, my hats off to you.

I'm thinking its time that I need a new computer. It's getting slower, overheating, etc. I just bought a cooling pad that I'm hoping will help it run better and stop it from overheating. However ( Read more... )

I have to ask.. what is that thing? It's kind of interesting looking... but what purpose does it serve? And for that matter why does it look like a worm or slug holding baby slugs/worms?

Just wait you'll end up with 6 different set of dishware and 5 toasters. ;)

At any rate good luck, best wishes, and have fun! Things that can't be returned can be later used as white elephant gifts. :D

1) Where can i get that first gift for you! OMG that is soooo you! :D
2) You know what's even cooler than just wedding gifts, bridal shower gifts too! Don't you worry, you'll get your wooden spoons, maybe even a fork or two too! :)
3) What kind of computer do you have? Have you ever cleaned it? You can give it longer life if you pop it open and clean the fans and the heatsink on it. I had a dell, and each year I would take it apart and clean out all the fans. It was a laptop and MAN there would be an inch of dirt caked in there! There is also the heatsink that you can wipe down with rubbing alcohol, it goes across the hard drive. Many place have a diagram on how to tap the inside of the laptop apart to get to your fans. You may also have to replace them if they no longer move or make a loud buzzing noise when they are on. It's $40 vs a new computer! The you can start saving while it doesn't overheat as much! :) If you don't feel comfortable doing it, I'm sure Steve will do it for you. :) or the IT guy at your dad's school.

1.) I'm sorry dear. If you get that for me I will either a) return it or b) it'll never come out. I dont even know WHAT IT IS!?!?!
2.) I didn't even think of that! (That's Jan 8th...btw)
3.) I have an Acer, and I've cleaned it, and I run virus scanners (like 5 of them) at least once every 2 weeks.) And Steve hasn't owned a computer in over 8 years, so I'm not going to let him do it.
