We did Terry's Pratchett's Raising Steam only a month ago. I postulated that since he had advanced alzheimers perhaps it was not so much him writing it as him throwing out a few ideas and his editor/ghostwriter finishing it. it did rather read like a pastiche of Discworld to me. Odd that Good Omens was better than any work by either of them but The Long Earth (with Stephen Baxter) was worse than anything by either of them.
Giving children minicomputers? Why not give them embedded mini computers like we chip dogs. That should stop them running away to Iraq.
