The end of the world, among other things

Aug 23, 2010 16:26

So i've been pondering humanity a lot lately, I'm not sure why, maybe it's because I meet the most interesting people at work....Some are the rudest, snobbiest, self-centered people in the world, others are the sweetest, funniest, and kindest people I've had the pleasure of meeting. there have been a few that have really impacted my life in a ( Read more... )

If the world were to end right now, I'd be happy with what I've accomplished. However, I don't like the thought of spending my last moments at work...

That my friend is my true reason for refusing motherhood.
I don't want to add to our "Ugly race".
Fueled by constant hate and apathy.
I think there is a reason I found Sean so it could
give me some faith back in the world.

There are a few children left in the world,
but they are hard to find.

I constantly look for a way to feed my maternal instincts
but it all underlines the fact that I can't have a child of my own. I hope Sean and I can adopt a child some day so
I can put alittle good back into the world.

That's what I fear, all the smart people are thinking like we are. I will have children, and I want them to be of my own blood, but believe me I have my doubts and I'm scared of what could happen to them. I honor my mother for bringing my brother and I into this world and raising us right even though him and I are both fucking crazy, we have standards.

Hi, this is GoddessChild83 from Twitter (just in case you were wondering LoL)

I will never understand humanity in general either and I very much understand how you feel. Especially on the children aspect. I myself have 3 young children and I am forever paranoid about something bad happening to them that I can't protect them from, but you know what? It's people like you that are the best fit to bring children in this world. Yeah, the world sucks, but if there were more parents out there that thought on such similar lines, they would also be the kind of people that would try to raise their children to do right, treat people with kindness and respect as well as to treat Nature the same.

It definitely sucks that there are so many awful people in the world, but that's why children are a hope for the future, a better future.

Humanity may not be perfect, but it's refreshing to find those that have ideals such as you. Better things have to start somewhere.

Very much a no. There's just... so much to do. I know my efforts volunteering and being active against people who want to screw things up more, and all that, don't do much in the greater scheme of things, but I still feel as if... there's so much more I can be doing, or could have done, to make the planet just a little less crappy. That said, I don't think hate is in our blood- I'm a very negative person, but there are people out there who don't have a nasty bone in their body. :)

I agree with you, I've had the pleasure of meeting some of the sweetest people. I just think that there are also a good number of people who are told to hate at a young age, or that are raised wrong and have been being raised wrong for generations. I pray for these people and hope that they see the light and pitch in to help make this planet beautiful again.
