I'be been catching up on this. After some initial resistance when I saw an episode on teevee, (i already understood Sherlock was beating up an Arab guy while Watson was having difficulties shopping; you don't need to keep hammering it in via flash-backs... -_-) its actually quite good! Only one episode left to finish season 2.

Since I'm old as hell, I keep comparing to this, and I must say Cumberbatch quite fits the bill. Both Sherlock and Watson come out as much richer and complex characters than back in the 80's version. Plus, I love the speed-up scenes when Sherlock is turning his brain cogs where the lettering superimposes the image. Kind of Metro-design. :P

Great quotes/ scenes, too.

Sherlock Holmes: [being strangled by John] I think we're done now, John!
Dr. John Watson: You don't remember, Sherlock, I was a soldier! I killed people!
Sherlock Holmes: You were a doctor!
Dr. John Watson: I had bad days!

And Martin Freeman... If I already liked him in The Office, what to say now? <3 <3 <3

I haven't seen that version of Sherlock; I don't think I've seen many, anyway, but this is currently my definitive-Sherlock. Unlike the American version with RDJ, which was just... not Sherlock. >_>

and yessss that's one of my favourite pieces of dialogue. XD

martin freeman. :3
