Howl's Moving Castle makes me want to Talk to Hats.

Okay...so random question but since I just finished rereading the books-

Was the movie Howl's Moving Castle anything like the book(s)? Will it ruin the magic of the books to see said movie? C'mon lend me a hand. My mother refuses to read the books and can thus only tell me the movie was "good".

They're different for the most part. For example, Howl doesn't turn into a flying demon in the book. The idea is pretty much the same, just the movie is Miyazaki's interpretation of the book. Both are good in there own way and should thus both be enjoyed.
