Part of it is in fact that the food you have access to is generally much worse for you than you would eat at home. And you'd think you would do a lot of walking, but even that isn't really enough activity to get your body going.

And then there's the stress. Stress makes it harder for your body to burn fat. Or something like that. It's a chemical thing. I've seen articles!

I believe you! There's some stress hormone called cortisol or cortisone that specifically makes people fat around the middle as opposed to gaining weight in the hips, which is supposed to be healthier. Mmmm articles.

personally, i plan to become morbidly obese in college, get really depressed, and flunk out.

I'm off to a great start already. I had Hostess doughnuts for breakfast, and in the refrigerator is a can of Redi-Whip with my name on it. And last night, we made a perfect chocolate cake.

also, I heard once that your metabolism starts to change around 18--most teens can metabolize faster than adults I guess, so I think this is when it starts to change.

Also, people who played lots of sports in high school and suddenly arent playing any sports anymore may keep eating their regular amount of food, even though they dont need as much
