( Daniel’s eyes rove the stark green foliage high above, and every time an ethereal alien bird begins to sing that silly song he has to close his eyes and focus. )

Oh, Katie, that killed me. There was one typo -- the mortally wounded line was Daniel's, not Jack's -- but other than that this was just wonderful and sad and OH JACK AND DANIEL WHY CAN'T YOU BE HAPPY? ♥ ♥ ♥ So tragic, but so lovely at the same time.

Excellent fic! I just noticed one little error.

“Oh,” Jack gasps, “Really? Cause I thought I was mortally wounded here.”

Shouldn't that be Daniel?

Absolutely beautiful, and very sad.
And I didn't even notice the typo that the other commenteers mentioned. I guess I'm a poor reader. But nevertheless... I thought this was brilliantly written.

“Why?” he chokes out.

“Because I’m not gonna let you.
