Oh wow, that's a gorgeous piece of inspirational fan art! Love that image. Seeing it in context with your story is like this extra oomph to what you've written.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, this is an intriguing AU. You've managed to maintain the complicated relationship between them -- the connection, the bond, but also the tension (of ideals and beliefs). The imagery here is striking because it's rare that one visualizes Charles being physically broken down.

I'm glad you stuck with your original vision of delaying the reveal that Erik and Charles are actively (yet covertly) on the same side. Your summary description sets the context in place.

I'm looking forward to reading more Erik/Charles stories from you!

It's stunning isn't it? She has a great eye for concept pieces. I couldn't stop myself after I saw that. I'm glad my vision of the story merges well with the image. You always want to do justice to what people imagine when they see art...

Thank you. Again. So much. You were such a huge help with this piece: showing me where things weren't clear and boosting my confidence/ideas ♥ (I'm nominating you for best beta on LJ.)
And thank you for enjoying. :) I'm really excited to churn the companion piece out.

Wow, amazing story that fits perfectly with the picture. Absolutely adore the view of how living through the Depression would affect the characters. How we aren't sure what's going on at first and it becomes clear they're working together. Just adored all of it. Beautiful.

Thank you so much! I'm absolutely thrilled that it works with the fanart and the time period.
To be perfectly honest, fitting this piece into it's time slot took a lot of research. It's great to know that it paid off!
