BSM is next Saturday. @.@ I haven't even been within 2000 miles of most of the stuff I'm packing! D:

Wow, by that time I'll have been here for about 6 weeks.

Scary to think about.

It's been really nice here so far. The weather is really great and the food is pretty good too.

We spent most of the day today at the Dead Sea. Tons of fun.

Hopefully we're going to Jordan (probably Petra) during the break between Ulpan and the start of the semester. After our program ends in December we're also hopefully spending a few weeks traveling around Europe.

Good luck with everything!

Holy crap! Are you more anxious, excited, or blase at this point?

And, at least in 2005, most of the programs did not start until early September. Your friend is right about that.

I dont even know how I feel... most of the time I dont even feel like I am leaving. in conversation when i tell people "oh yeah, im studying abroad in africa" it's very surreal. and then when i start reading stuff about senegal I do get excited about it, a little anxious as well, but then after that, when I go about my normal boring life, i go back to not even feeling like I am leaving

That's about how I felt too. I didn't do much reading before I went to Budapest, but I just went about my normal boring life too until I was at the airport. Sometimes, I felt excited or curious, but mostly, I felt nothing much. It changed when I got there though.
