so im leaving in a week  - i dont leave for senegal till sunday of next week but mom and I are leaving for chicago for a long weekend a week from today

Ha ha. Renting a camel does sound awesome, as I'm sure the rest of what you do in Senegal will be. Study Abroad really was one of the best points in my life. Have a good time and be safe!
