monroeslittle just posted the first chapter for a really interesting VM futurefic, Truth Be Told. (The author just made her way over here from FF.net, so she hasn't posted it to the vmfic comm yet.) I'm always iffy about future fics, but I read this because you recced it. So far I'm really enjoying it :)

I usually like futurefics, but there's a LOT of baaaad and/or cliche futurefic out there. This one has a unique premise, but with a realistic backstory.

Yep, read it about 30 mins ago :) I'm really picky about the future fics I like. I only like them (with very few exceptions) if L/V have been together the whole time and it's not super far in the future. For example, as much as I love snuffybaby's fics, she wrote one that I can't reread very often where Logan ran away after the events of S1 because Keith died and he felt like seeing him would be a horrible reminder for Veronica. Anyway, they meet up I think 7-8 years later, and Logan has a 4-yr-old son by some floozy that just dropped the kid off on Logan's doorstep. I like the ending, which is the only thing that saves it for me, because I HATE fics in which one or both of them has kids by someone else. And I don't much care for fics where they've been separated for years. I can handle 3-4 years at the most, if some growing up happens. But mostly I want them to do their growing up with each other. I'm a die-hard shipper that way ;) So, all of that to say that I'm actually enjoying this one :)
