TV meme - Day Two
Day 01 - A show that never should have been canceled
Day 02 - A show that you wish more people were watching
My first instinct was to list Friday Night Lights here. But the show isn't at risk of cancellation--it has a definitive end date, and the final season has already been shot and scheduled to air. If you appreciate outstanding writing and acting, you should be watching FNL, but for this item, I'm going with Chuck.
Chuck is funny, dramatic, and exciting, with complicated spy storylines and snappy dialogue. Also, it's a show about geeks, made by geeks for geeks--there are a lot of little in-jokes and references just for us. :) Zachary Levi is so cute, Adam Baldwin is a riot as the straight man (but we all knew that from Firefly), and I have a huge girlcrush on Yvonne Strahovski. And as my husband has pointed out, for every shot of Sarah in a short dress or sexy spy gear, there is at least one shirtless shot of Ryan McPartlin or Brandon Routh. (Seriously, Captain Awesome wears a shirt about half the time.)
But due in large part to constant scheduling switcheroos by NBC, Chuck has never gotten the chance to really build up the audience it could have. Every season, it's a nail-biter to see if they're going to be renewed. So if you don't already, start watching Chuck!
