This was kind of sweet. To be honest, I had not wasted much thought on Eliot as a father figure, what with his emotional baggage and all, but this sweet ficlet really brought out this side in him and suddenly I could see it!

Actually, I'm usually not a fan of the "surprise! You're a daddy!" type of story, and when I was watching "The Two-Horse Job," I kept expecting it to happen. So when I was thinking about the initial ficlet (that became the prologue to all of this), it occurred to me that it could work, since Eliot's being off the grid would provide a valid reason for Aimee not telling him.
